Rocket League Universal Open
For the 2018 Rocket League Universal Open, our client presented us with the challenge of capturing the spirit of Rocket League for their championship trophy. Given the unique style of the game, Nick Fair Design expertly provided a concept that fit the bill: a futuristic piece that incorporated the signature ball and slick energy that accompanies it.
The trophy components were printed and hand finished into a smooth semi-floating ball assembly. The piece was then illuminated with 11 bright blue LEDs and a dual-silver metallic finish with a high gloss top coat. Each illumination point was frosted to provide the perfect smooth and bright glow throughout. In order to showcase the illuminated effects both during the broadcast as well as during the winning team’s award ceremony, the electronics were designed to run off both internal batteries as well as an external wall power source.
