Corsair “Atomic Purple” Hardware
2025 marked the fifth year we helped our friends at Corsair create something unique and special for their April 1 social media push. From huge fans to tiny keyboards, pet toys to fidget keycaps, we’ve taken the ideas from the social media team at Corsair and brought them into reality. This year was the most ambitious yet: bringing back early 2000’s “Atomic Purple” translucent gaming hardware.
Corsair was interested in a much bigger project for 2025 than anything before. A clear mouse, clear keyboard, clear PC tower. Even a clear CPU cooler! Once provided with some brand-new hardware, we set about shredding the electronic guts from everything in order to re-shell the parts in 2000-era purple. Parts for each component were reverse-engineered from 3D models, printed in clear resin, and dyed to match Corsair’s limited edition Stream Deck peripheral. Aside from the CPU cooler, all parts retained full functionality after the re-shelling! Community engagement was massive on this project, and we share the fan’s opinion that this aesthetic needs to be revived in the modern age.
